About us
We make small, focused apps for the Mac. Pinit is one of them — the pins from Kopit and Framit, made into an app of its own, so what you are working from stays in view above every window.
What Pinit does
If you can copy it, you can pin it
Images in any format, text and code with syntax highlighting, PDFs, Office and iWork documents, video and audio, colors and any other file. Copy it and press ⌃⌥P, or drop it on the menu bar icon.
The thing itself, not a picture of it
A pinned web page stays live, a PDF pages through, a spreadsheet shows its cells. Double-click a sticker to work inside it, and press Esc to go back to moving it around.
Out of the way when you need the screen
Stickers are small borderless windows that stay on top. Fade one until you can read through it, or until clicks pass straight to the app underneath — and ⌃H hides every sticker at once.
Still there after a restart
Quit, restart or update, and every sticker comes back where you left it — same size, zoom and opacity, with the text you edited and the arrows you drew. A closed sticker is one click from coming back.
What we care about
Apps that do one job well and feel at home on macOS: quick to summon, quiet once you are done, and respectful of the shortcuts and conventions you already know. Pinit pins things and nothing more — screenshots are Framit's job, and clipboard history is Kopit's.
Your data stays yours
Pinit has no account, no analytics and no telemetry, and asks for no permissions — no Screen Recording, no Accessibility. Stickers and history are kept on your Mac and never uploaded, the clipboard is read only at the moment you ask to pin it, and text recognition and translation run on your Mac. The edition from this website only goes online to check for updates and to load the web pages you pin.
Free to use
Pinit is free to download and use: no account, no subscription, no in-app purchase. If paid extras ever arrive, what you can do today stays free.
